NEVER JUST LOOKING
EXHIBITION CATALOGUE
"The gaze of the viewer is never innocent, and neither is the image being viewed. Starting from this concept, the Galleria Magnum of Paris presents a rich photographic exhibition entitled, Never "Just Looking" curated by Thomas Zander. The selection of images, removed of the photojournalism category take on different meanings and values when their reportage function passes into second place. Each shot becomes a work of art in and of itself, which the spectator evaluates according to a new aesthetic criteria. Among the artists included in the show are Erwitt, Gilden, Sarfati, Meiselas, Pellegrin: different styles and visions that may feel remote from one another, but which are all joined by the common desire to confront the world. The exhibition opened on May 22 and will remain open to the public until July 30." –VOGUE
